The Two-Edged Sword: Triumph and Judgment

As I’ve been meditating and listening to the Spirit of God through His Word and certain prophetic voices.  One theme has been a mainstay and continues to reoccur from the Master directly.  This theme has to deal with the current tribulations we are facing as a nation and Church.  As I stated in the previous blog — We’ve got to rise up and assume our truest identity in Christ, as His companion and Bride.  I’m talking about believers who have made difficult vows and covenants to the Lord Jesus by living, as best as they can sacrificial lives all for the sake of Christ.  I quake even as I write this because I know for myself I have to step into this in even a more intentional way. We pray the prayer all the time, “Lord let your will be done and let Your kingdom come in earth as it is in heaven” and we deem quoting this in faith as the action step needed to manifest God’s kingdom. But as I’ve meditated here lately I’ve begin to discover that the way in which God’s Kingdom is manifested in the earth is through us…

“2 Cor 2:14 - But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place.”  If you have a prophetic sensitivity and will peer-in and listen to what the Spirit is saying to the Church you will discover in the atmosphere that there are the winds and sounds of urgency and conviction in our midst.  Already this year, I’ve found myself on several occasions confronted with a type of spiritual warfare that almost seemed misdirectional, but yet very needful for my spiritual growth and development as there have been close friends and loved ones God has used in this season to bring certain “tensions of life and conflict” but none of which were directly related to me.   The feeling I get metaphorically is the sound and tension you’d get if you were sharpening a knife on the back of can-opener.  Ear-screeching but needful.

These are the times my friends where God’s word in you will be very painful to you if you do not release what He has given you.  Inside of you it will become a burden to you.   God is going to cause the tensions of life and circumstance to continue to sharpen the blade of His Word, until it is proclaimed and released to this dying and unbelieving generation.  You see we’ve announced the glad tidings of the Gospel as it written in Isaiah 61:1 -

“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me To bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to captives And freedom to prisoners;” But we’ve not declared the 2nd part of the verse to generation: Isaiah 62:2

“To proclaim the favorable year of the LORD and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn,” This is the two-edged sword Jesus that I’m referring to.  This same sword — will slay the one that rejects Jesus Christ, and will save the one that accepts Jesus Christ. The Two-Edge Sword should be in our mouths as we’ve just scene in Isaiah 61:1-2.  That word inside of us has got to come out.  For it IS the sword of God’s Judgment and Victory to this generation.   We must know that the only way darkness is going to be pushed back is when the light of God’s word in our mouths declare thus sayeth the Lord.  Whether its releasing advanced warnings to the unbeliever of God’s pending judgment and the coming events or declaring the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ to the heart that has been made good ground by the Holy Spirit. Either way God’s word must be fully disclosed and unveiled.

In simple terms — when we preach we manifest! Eph 3:8-10 “8 To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ, and to bring to light what is the administration of the mystery which for ages has been hidden in God who created all things; 10 so that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly places”

Remember if we’ll release the two-edged sword that God has placed in our mouth it will release the fragrance of God’s knowledge to a dying and unbelieving generation.  They will know what they’ve got coming to them and have time to repent, instead of dying because we did not love not our lives even unto death.  The Apostle John went on to say (rev 1:9) that, He was our brother and fellow partaker in the tribulation, kingdom and perseverance and was placed on the Island of Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ, which is the “spirit of prophecy” (rev 19:10) Release the words of the Bridegroom… it will come out kindly, boldly and fully.

Blessings, Darrian

  1. This may be one of the clearest descriptions of our current spiritual climate I have read.
